4.	Better understanding of the contributions of Latin and Romance languages and literature.

5.	Awareness of the contribution of Latin to the technical vocabulary of medicine, science, religion, and law.

6.	Awareness of the continuing use of an ancient language in modern communications and media.

7.	Development of the reasoning skill which provides a necessary basis for developing many other skills.

8.	Development of a sensitivity to the structure of one’s native languages by an understanding 
	of the structure of the Latin sentence.

9.	Development of an historical perspective through increased knowledge of facts related to Roman life, history, 
	institutions, mythology, and religion.
