
Classical Languages - Methology
To achieve the goals of the Classical Language Program the following methods are used:
• A coordinated, spiral textbook series which leads to a rogressive development of the ability to read authentic
Latin,and emphasizes English grammar and vocabulary building and the contribution of classical civilization to
the modern world.
• Texts supported by workbooks, tests, supplemental books, and ural filmstrips and videos.
• Materials and activities which appeal to a variety of learning styles, are age- appropriate, and allow for
creativity. Projects, constructions, presentations, skits, and student-made videos are encouraged.
• Cultural knowledge enhanced by class projects, field trips, and the activities of the Latin Club.
• Participation and the National Latin Exam and other activities of the state and national Junior Class League
to emphasize the modern day importance of Latin.
