World Languages - Specific Goals

1.	Attainment of an acceptable degree of proficiency in the four skills of listening, speaking, reading, and 
	writing of the world language.

2.	Appreciation of foreign cultures, thereby, increasing appreciation of one’s own culture and that of the
	immediate multi-lingual community.

3.	Introduction to literature through readings in the world language of classical and modern works.

4.	Development of creative and original thinking through oral and written work in the world language.
