The English girls tennis team hasn't enjoyed much success against Danvers in recent years, but the Bulldogs had it all working Monday in a 4-1 win over the Falcons at Keaney Park.
Danvers' No. 1 singles player Rachel Ziner took a point at first singles with a 6-0, 6-0 win, but it was all English the rest of the way. Daniella Krische won at second singles, 6-4, 6-2; Thanh Bui at third singles, 6-0, 6-1; Sarah Cowdell-Alise Rittershaus at first doubles, 6-3, 6-3, and Jennie Cao-Kim Ma at second doubles, 6-2, 6-2.
"The girls played really well," English coach Lauren Mezzetti said. "It was a great win. Our second and third singles played very well today. They had their 'A' game."
Mezzetti said Danvers lost a lot of players to graduation last year and is rebuilding.
