LEHS Mathematics
The Mathematics Department offers applied, college prepatory, honors and advanced placement programs. All programs incorporate the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) standards and the Massachusetts Curriculum Framework for mathematics and prepare students for the Massachusetts Comprehensive Assessment System (MCAS) test. Courses offered include: Algebra I, II and III with Trigonometry, Geometry, Pre-Calculu, Calculus, Introduction to College Mathematics, Advanced Placement Statistics and Advanced Placement Calculus. All courses integrate technology, particularly the graphing calculator. The Math Team is a member of the Massachusetts Mathematics League. Students are encouraged to participate in the Math Olympiad Contest and the American High School Math Exam (AHSME).
